function and operating range

Why automatic snow chains?
Suddenly changing weather conditions, some time sleet, anothertime glaze, in places icy roads, gridlocked layers of snow and snowy work yards; these are typical cases of operation for an automatic snow chain. Being switched on from the driver's cab Rotachain provides grip for the driving wheels in seconds. While braking Rotachain shortens the braking distance, especially for ABS equipped vehicles. The exhausting and in oncoming traffic often dangerous fitting of snowchains, does not occur.
This increases the security for the driver, the vehicle with its goods and the adherence to delivery dates.

How does the system work? ?
The operating principle of the automatic snow chain is basically just as simple as it is ingenious. A swivel arm, with a rotatable chain wheel at its end, which is fixed to an adapter, is pushed to the inner side of the driving wheel using crompressed air. The chain wheel consists of a rubber edged aluminium disc, to which chain strands are attached. At the moment the chain wheel hits the drive-belt, the chainwheel starts to synchronize to the driving wheel speed, and the chain strands are thrown between the tire and roadway, in such way that at least two chain strands are located under the wheel every time.

How do I use the automatic snow chain?
Rotachain is engaged from the driver's cabin, either while driving with a maximum speed of 20 km/h or parking. As the wheels start to spin the chain strands are thrown under the driving wheels. They gain grip at a speed of 3 km/h and can be operated with a maximum speed of 50 km/h depending on the road conditions. With Rotachain you achieve the required grip while driving forward as well as backwards.
Advantages: Activation/ Deactivation from the driver's cab within 3 seconds, operable while driving or in stand still, funcionable driving forward and backwards, acceptable maximum speed of 50 km/h.
